Adam’s Peak, also known as Sri Pada, is a sacred mountain located in central Sri Lanka. It is revered by Buddhists, Hindus, Christians, and Muslims alike and is considered a pilgrimage site. The mountain’s summit is home to a sacred footprint, which is believed to belong to the Buddha by Buddhists, to Lord Shiva by Hindus, and to Adam by Muslims and Christians. Visitors can climb the mountain via a well-established hiking trail, which is open from December to May. The trail consists of over 5,000 steps and takes approximately 4-6 hours to complete. At the summit, visitors are rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding area.
